Ibiza News announced recently plans for a huge festival, which will take place near the derelict grounds close to Cafe Mambos and the sunset stripe, San Antonio Ibiza.

The festivals ambitious plans to bring together some of the biggest global acts, superstars and artists has already caused the rumor mills to turn! From the general news circulating the internet, acts confirmed so far are:

The acts will begin at noon and run until 2am, then Pacha, Amnesia, Space and Ushuaia will take the reins, all hosting after parties as well as their own VIP tents through out the 3 days.There will be a chill-out area, hippy market and all the usual festival concessions. Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday 10th March at 10am (CET)

Although this has been kept closely under wraps, first mentions of this idea came back in october 2011, when Pete Tong mentioned the possibility of a big festival in Ibiza 2012.

"One of the organisers and promoters of the event is Danny Whittle, Musical Director and part owner of Pacha Recordings and a key figure at Pacha. Whittle stated that there are "Many I's to dot and T's to cross to achieve something of this level in Ibiza and we are trying our best. We have total support of all the clubs as there are bigger plans afoot from this potential event that benefits all Ibiza." Whittle is no doubt referring to the planning and licencing regulations that would surround an event of this size, as Ibiza is notorious for the bureaucracy connected to obtaining the relevant licences for music events.
It would be a fantastic event for the island if an festival as exciting as this did manage to go ahead and thankfully the right people, with knowledge and respect for the Island and its culture, are promoting the event. This fact will be a vital component as to the potential success of the Festival and we wish the people behind Ibiza Rocktronic all the very best of luck for the project".
